Thirteen million users in Germany a year, 1.8 m vehicles on offer, more than 300,000 vehicles traded a month – AutoScout24 is one of the leading Internet car portals in the market. Involved in the markets in 17 countries, and with 37,000 member dealers, AutoScout24 is present in all the main markets in Europe. Founded as MasterCar AG in Munich in 1998, it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Scout24 Group, which is in turn part of Deutsche Telekom AG. AutoScout24 offers private customers, car dealers and other partners in the automotive, finance and insurance industries a comprehensive platform for trading cars on the Internet. Its core business is the marketplaces. As well as its online new and used car markets, the company also offers TruckScout24 and MotoScout24 as sales platforms for commercial vehicles and motorcycles, and a separate parts and accessories market. With its wide-ranging portals, re-marketer AutoScout24 Media offers makers and trading companies comprehensive, target group-oriented advertising and services. AutoScout24 also works with nearly all car makers, who recommend AutoScout24 to their approved dealers for Internet sales.

At AutoScout24, users find not only vehicle offers but also everything they need to know about cars. AutoScout24's editorial team has been conducting intensive vehicle tests since 2001, and reports on the latest models, used car checks, comprehensive advice and service topics in AutoScout24 magazine. With over 1.5 m subscribers, the magazine's newsletter has more readers than any other automotive newsletter in Europe. Since September 2009, there has been another online platform, AutoWissen24, with more information to do with cars. Here, customers can find vehicle data, model fittings, prices and a forum for chatting with other users. AutoScout24's site also offers car loans, insurance and vehicle leasing products.

AutoScout24's vehicle offers can be found via other highly popular Internet products such as ADAC, T-Online, United Internet Media (GMX, web.de, 1&1), viaMichelin (in five countries) and N-TV. AutoScout24 reaches over 35 m users a year via these partnerships (WNK, ACTA 2009). AutoScout24 is also committed to helping make the Internet more secure, and is a founder member of the major initiative "Sicherer Autokauf im Internet” (safe online car shopping initiative). But it doesn't fall short on entertaining and reaching out to its users throughout Europe: since 2005, they have been able to vote for their favorite vehicles in different categories via the Internet Auto Award.
